Chez Bushwick Artist-in-Residence

new work in process, Untitled Together

Jan 26 & 27th @ 8pm

at Center for Performance Research (CPR)

I am excited to be an Aritst-in-Residence for the winter at Chez Bushwick. The studio is beautiful and I know those windows and that light will inspire the coming cold months. I will begin work on a new experiment, Untitled Together. For months (has it been years!?) I’ve been performing iterations of my solo-turned-duet, Living with Trees around town and beyond. I’ve danced with 9 strangers in different locations and invited all of them into a new experimental process with me. Say what?

Untitled Together is a response to the blatantly supported racist ideologies in our country, the polarizing presidential election that divides and disappoints and to a time when sharing space with others is frequently virtual. I aim to create a performative environment that searches for ways to peacefully co-exist and ultimately investigates systems to better communicate and create collectively.  Untitled Together is a sequel to my solo turned duet, Living with Trees. The diverse group of nine strangers who joined me individually on stage during those various performances are invited into this experimental rehearsal process to create a new group work.
